DESCRIPTION:EDGA’s Head of Instruction and Education, Mark Taylor, will explore a variety of aspects of coaching golfers with disabilities across a two-day seminar relevant to a wide variety of individuals who are, or could be, engaged with disability golf.\nSCHEDULE:\nDay 01:\n\nExperiencing varying disabilities and the adaptations required to develop players\nBuilding specific disability programmes that support the player pathway\nPractical delivery – how to create and deliver outreach projects within the community and create links to golf facilities\nCreating fun and engaging sessions for adults and young people with disabilities\nHow to adapt your coaching to golfers with disabilities\nExperiential training to new sampler participants*\nEDGA Player motion analysis showcasing different disabilities and the adaptations required by coaches\nAdapting equipment\nReflection/next Steps. *Experiential sessions will only be available when EDGA and the host federation are able to organise a group of participants (preferably non- golfers) with disability.\n\nDay 02:\n\nUnderstanding impairments – More suited to existing/qualified/PGA Coaches\nIntroducing ‘Low Point’ to improve observation, and improve ball flight of golfers with disability (participants and competitors)\nLearning from the edges – EDGA PGA Professional\nPhysiotherapist support – understanding motion and physical limitations relating to golf\nCoaching golf to people with varying physical, neurological and sensory impairments\nPractical delivery at a golf facility of both group and individual coaching sessions to golfers with impairments*\nPlayer analysis of EDGA’s player database\nEDGA coaching programme\nReflection/next steps. *Where players are available – otherwise the EDGA player database will be used.\n\nWHO CAN ATTEND?\n\nPGA Professionals / Golf Coaches / Volunteer Coaches / Club Members/Club equipment tech specialists\nExisting golfers with disabilities wishing to become participation coaches / mentors engaged with G4D projects, rehabilitation therapists/physiotherapists.\nFederation staff / volunteers\nDisability organisation staff / volunteers\nGolf Club / Driving Range / Community Centre / Medical facility representatives/Physiotherapists.\n\n……………………………………..\nThe two day seminar includes lunch and refreshments.
