Most professionals know they should have a clear sense of purpose in their work – but few have sat down and actually defined what that means for them at this stage of their career. Ian Peek has spent 32 years in the game and is clear that a professional ’why’ is not a fixed destination or an abstract dream: it is a practical, personal anchor that shapes daily decisions and shifts as life circumstances change. In this first of two sessions, he sets out what a professional ’why’ actually is, why it matters, and how to begin identifying yours – using five straightforward questions and a three-part framework that spans physical wellbeing, mindset, and the people around you.
